We continue to work on getting the physical letters requesting a general meeting delivered to the Ripple Coop 4 in Ayr and to Ripple Energy in London. We note that the registered address of Ripple Energy changed in Companies House to the Birmingham office of the administrators Begbies Traynor. However, we believe that the successful delivery of emails and a response from the administrators means that we have met the requirement of contacting the coop’s board to request a general meeting.
We have received an email response declining responsibility to interact with the coop (or the remaining Board members) from an individual at Begbies Traynor previously identified as a responsible party. We have sought clarification from them about the response. We are waiting for their response. We will publish an update when we receive one.
The petition to request a general meeting has now been closed with over 250 signatures. Thank you for your support!
In the future, we anticipate that we may need to contact the coop’s members directly. The signatures and emails that were previously collected for the petition were collected for the purpose of the petition only. Therefore, because of GDPR, we are going to collect member names again. This time the purpose is to communicate with members about the coop including the general meeting, but also anything else. We understand that we are asking members to enter information again, but it is a small amount and we want to protect ourselves by being clear about the purpose for which it is being collected.
The website is https://blog.whitelawbrae.org.uk/register-for-updates/
Please register there if you are a member of the Ripple Energy 4 ‘Whitelaw Brae’ coop.
(The Steering Committee was formed from volunteers on the general forum and is empowered to act using over 250 signatures collected by petition.)
